Default Anyway to setup a email time frame in BES?

Please Login to Remove!

One of my clients wants to know if its possible to setup the BES server so that email is recieved only from say 7am to 10pm. After those time they want the mail to only go into their Outlook only.

Anyway to do this?

Thanks,
Dan

you could turn off the bes services and restart them with a script.

Why don't they just set up their BB to automatically turn off between 10 pm and 7 am?

Clarification:

This request seems to be coming to this Admin directly from a "client" which I assumed meant a person whose handheld device is enabled on the Admin's BES.

Why doesn't the person who is asking for time frame simply set up his/her handheld device to shut itself off during the 10 pm to 7 am time frame?

Or is this something the Admin is seeking to impose on all users?

I guess the main question is, what problem is this client trying to resolve in such a roundabout way? Rule synchronization? Noise?

Stop users from working after hours and forcing them to getting some rest.

I have read about a few companies that are doing this in the local paper.

the users cannot shut down the phones, they need to recieve emails and text, but do not want the emails coming in as they get alot of emails and dont want to wake up to them.

i suggested making a profile for the phone for emails just vibrate but they want other.

any other ideas or script it?

Router and sync service.

Other thought, close the 3101 port on the firewall. You will get lots of log entries though.

Default Temporarily stop email to the BlackBerry device

When clients request such action for Vacation, I suggest that they use the "set email to No option"

Messages: Options: Email Settings : Send Email to Handheld
Change the Yes to No.

I suggest that they do the opposite after Vacation.
