Default Verizon Storm Pouch Screwed up my phone!

Please Login to Remove!

I bought the Storm pocket pouch from Verizon the other day so i could keep my phone safe cause i work in a warehouse. My phones battery would last 2 days with standard to minimal use. With the pouch it lasts up to 8 hours with no use at all! I thought these cases were suppose to maximize battery life with the magnet thingy... Also that's not the only problem... My phone glitches all kinds now. Before my phone ran smooth i have never had a problem with it till i bought the stupid pouch. So im gonna take it back and tell Verizon what went on.

Anyone else have this problem?

It is only coincidence. The pouch won't cause loss of battery or other your other issues.

You need to see what else is going on with background applications and certainly do a battery pull reboot.

Hows your signal in the warehouse? If you had a weak signal to start with, maybe the pouch is causing it to not get a signal at all. The reason I ask is if the phone (or any cell phone for that matter) looses signal and has to start searching to re-capture signal the battery drains much faster. I have a similar situation where I work, weak signal, at times no signal. My battery drains much faster when I am at work than when I am not. I have the pouch with the belt clip.

So, test it now the next few days without the pouch.

See if your battery life jumps back to two days.

Well... its too early in the morning for disagreement, I just know the holster isn't causing battery drain.

I actually use the OEM belt holster made for the Bold (from an AT&T store) for my Storm. It fits much better, especially with my rubber skin on the Storm... could be an option for you.

I will have to try out the BOLD Belt Holster, great tip. When I opened this thread I expected the OP to say that the pouch ripped off a button, not battery drain. I agree with you sir, it's not the pouch.

I'm not gonna argue with u, but just simply help u go with the facts. The pouch is made out of leather, and has a metal magnet or whatever to place on standby. Now what possibly could that do to the phones battery? I have a blackberry pouch, and compared to urs does nothing different or looks different other than the bb logo, and it saves battery....are u sure ur just not in denial...?

Actually this one i have is not made of leather... Its not the one they sale on shopblackberry.com. Its the fake one. The pouch is made really cheap.. The seems on boths are already ripping. My conclusion is that i got a defective case... it was a pain getting my phone in and out.. the casd was simply to tight. But its cool i took it back and now my phones prefect again.

Wirelessly posted (8310; RammerJammer!)

So it wasn't a RIM BlackBerry case.

Perhaps you bought the KX2100 case with the Krypton lining which is known to cause battery drain. You could've told us that up front.

I've noticed with my Storm when I place the phone in the OEM holster it automatically turns on...Doesn't with my Bold.

You gotta watch out for that Krypton lining, not only does it weaken the battery it can cause shortness of breath, and weakening of muscles.

If the aftermarket case doesn't have the magnet in it, it might not be putting the phone in standby mode.
