Default Google sync only one-way

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using google sync on my BB 8100 BIS, but since a few days it only syncs one-way (from google calendar to my BB 8100).
Reinstall doesn't work.
Anyone any idea how to resolve this.

I don't think so.
This is what google says:

Google Sync (BlackBerry): Overview

Google Sync is a BlackBerry client that downloads Google Calendar events onto your BlackBerry, and uploads Calendar events from your BlackBerry (two-way synchronization over the air). Google Sync is seamlessly integrated into BlackBerry's built-in calendar.

Make sure that you have your entire email address typed in, not just your username. It will let you log in with just your username but you will only get one way sync.

It's kind of a buggy app so not sure there's a tried and true solution. Some people have reported deleting and reinstalling it works, some people say installing using the Google Mobile Updater instead of the direct OTA link works, and some people say they had 1st letter in their username capitalized and when they changed it to lower-case, it worked. Trial and error mostly! One thing I would recommend is if you do try to delete and re-install, log out first. If you don't you will end up with corrupted calendar entries. Good luck!!!!

Do you synch your phone to Outlook on the PC? If you do, then try to synch the phone to Google it won't work. Any entries that have been synched from or to Outlook won't migrate to Google. So you have to choose between synching your phone to Outlook or Google.

There is another app at Google, it synchs with Outlook. But it only works with Outlook 2003 and up.

If you sync your google calendar with outlook and also with your BB, be very careful. Depending on what order you do things in you can end up with a lot of dupes that can be difficult to remove.

Agree with that. I only sync tasks, notes, and contacts between my BB and Outlook. I sync Outlook calendar using a 3rd party software (SyncMyCal) with Google. Has worked pretty well. I like using the 3rd party because it lets me sync all of my Google calendars with Outlook which I believe the Google Outlook app lacks. (I could be wrong on this) The two downsides to the Google Sync app for BB is 1) that you can only upload to your default Google calendar. You then have to change the appt., if desired, to the correct calendar on Google or Outlook. 2) Google Sync removes all past appts from your BB older than 7 days. They remain on Google and Outlook, but kind of a pain if you want to reference something from two weeks ago and you're not near a computer. However, you can always go to the mobile Google Calendar on your BB browser. All things considered, worth it to me.

I agree with you all, but my google sync is still working one way.
I'm now trying to install syncje, but i don't know whether it supports outlook 2007.

Default Fixed

I had my default reminder on my blackberry set at 0 mins.
Google calendar doesn't have a reminder at 0 minutes and will then regonize an appointment with a 0 minute reminder.

They have made several improvements to the sync app since last summer. I find it works very well for me.

I have only used it for the calendar, the contacts is still too buggy for me to even try.
