Default Combining SMS and Messaging folders

Please Login to Remove!

I know there is an easy way to combine both my SMS and my messages folders into one single folder. I'm just not sure how to do it. It's very inconvenient to have 2 different folders. If anyone could help, that would be great.

Thanks!

Yes.

Messages > Options > General Settings > scroll down to > SMS and Email Inboxes = COMBINED.

I've not used a 9000, but traditionally on other BlackBerry models, there is an option to do this under Options>Screen and Keyboard.

Just be sure your theme correctly handles the consolidated folder. Some themes don't (i.e. my version of iBerry 3G doesn't).

The combined boxes are theme controlled, not all themes do it as I've found from experience

You can set it to be theme controlled, or seperate or combined.
Those are the 3 listed options.
So, change it to controlled and it wont matter on the theme. Have it on theme controlled, and it will.

If you want Email and SMS combined, you would only set it to "Theme controlled" if you know for a fact that the theme makes specific concessions in its design to handle 1 instead of two folders with the proper icon assignment and labeling.

If you set it to "combined" and your theme has not made these concessions, it may result in the situation I have which results in the icon being wrong (it's blank) and it is no longer clickable.

Correct, so the OP would set as combined as outlined in the second post.

Oh ok. Thats seems counter intuitive and dumb, but hey. maybe thats just me. combined should combine no matter what your theme, or there isnt really a point in having the theme controlled option...

I failed to point out that the main "Mail" icon on the ribbon does indeed combine both SMS and Mail when it is set to combined. It just messes up the SMS/MMS icon that, in this theme anyway, exists on the home page at the top.
