I'm currently using it, but I'm getting hard lockups using Yahoo or AIM on .99. Anyone else seeing this?

I got a Storm a week and a half ago; it came with .75 pre-installed. I upgraded to .99 yesterday and it is working fine without issue. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a major carrier rolls this out.

-The camera is a lot more responsive with .99 over .75 (.90 was supposedly fast as well, but I didn't try that one).

-QWERTY available in portrait orientation (again available with .90)

-Screen does not light up if pressed when locked (available with .90)

-Green "go" button replaces the "return" button in the browser.

This so far has been a great release for me; makes the phone more usable.

What version of AIM?

The app center only has 2.2.22, but there are newer releases out there.

2.5.27 I believe is the latest for AIM.

I updated to the versions included with .99, although it seems that maybe not all of the modules were loaded. None of the IM clients show up in the Applications list, even though they kinda work. Gonna try removing them and reloading to see what happens. Looks like the included versions are 2.5.27.

edit:

Updated to 2.5.27, still seeing the same behavior. As soon as I open the menu in a conversation, it stops responding to keypresses. I can't even hit esc to close the menu.

edit #2:

Downgraded the IM programs to the version from the application downloader, they seem to work. Screen updates are slow at times, but no lockups yet.

Wirelessly posted

It seems like the quality of most of the OS graphics have been reduced. Specifically the blue gradient when hovering over a home screen icon, you can see the fade lines.

This might be one way the sped up the phone, though that would be a shame.

Ah, battery pull fixed that. Seems the rotation is MUCH faster, the camera seems about the same and I don't notice any keyboards being smaller. Hrm. I like the Go button too.

When locked, I've noticed it takes mine a long time to unlock. One new issue that wasn't there in .75.

Try crackberry.com. That's where I got the link. When you find the link is it on megaupload.com?

Ok. Here is anidea. If you go through the official leak thread on crackberry, I recall someone else also posted a secondary download link in that thread. They ususally do this because once an OS is linked megaupload is crushed with people wanting to download. Try reading through the thread and you should find it. Good luck!
