Default Spontaneous Shutdown

Please Login to Remove!

So I'm talking on the phone while driving with my BT headset and the phone just shuts down...instantly. Won't turn back on unless I pull the battery or plug it into the lighter. Tried to call back and it shut down again. Thought maybe the battery was low (but not out). So tried to charge ofter and watch the battery level.

That was last week. The battery had been running out in the middle of the day, so I thought maybe a battery drain issue and ordered a new battery. So I've been making sure it is charged throughout the day now and keep a close eye until my new battery arrives.

But again today, driving home on a conference call and with the battery at 60% (checked right before I got on the call and only spent 9 minutes on the call and checked after reboot), it shut down again. By the time it rebooted the call was over. So a few emails came in, and being stuck in traffic, I replied to one....BOOM...shut down again and wasn't even on a call. Didn't happen again all evening. It seems to happen in the car driving home. That's been the only common thread between the two incidents.

Checking the log, there's a ton of messages, some TCP errors, but the only fatal (bolded in the log) error I see is this:

Anybody have any suggestions or experienced this?

I have the exact same problem, nothing to do with car location.
T mobile techs at store concluded it was the balckberry hardware
had a "new" phone sent to me (and a new battery just in case)
The "new phone" turned out to be a horrible refurbish that had NO internet option except through enterprise (a company site) and many other restrictions.
YUK
The newbattery has worked for one day now without black screens.
Will keep you posted.
I think there must be some battery drain problem because i NEVER surf the interned with mine--only emails and calendar and contacts.
So what is this problem? Shall I ask for another "new" blackberry--if i see the black screen of death again? or accept that i just have to carry new batteries as spares?

Thanks

Well I upgraded the handheld OS to .124...no luck. It still happens. So now I wait for my new battery to arrive and see if that fixes it. I'm guessing it will since the battery just goes dead...I'd start a call at 60% battery and within minutes it shuts down. When I reboot (battery pull is the only way) it says low battery and too low to turn the radio on. It says 15% battery. So I'm guessing the battery has had it. I ordered a new Seidio extended life battery. Obviously if that doesn't work, then it's TMO store time.

I got my new Seidio 1500mah battery yesterday and so far so good...no shutdowns and the battery lasts significantly longer.
