Default Security Question

Please Login to Remove!

I lost my 8900 and although my SIM card is locked and no outgoing calls can be made, all of my contacts and personal info and well as my addresses on the phone are available. I lost the phone at a hotel so there is a possibility I may still get my 8900 back.

I went to T-Mobile and got a new SIM card with my old phone number on it and am using my old 8320.

My question is: Is there a way, either using my phone's security settings, OR a 3rd party application, to enable all of my contacts to be secured on my phone in case my phone is lost or stolen to assure my contacts list and addresses are secure.

HELP!

set a password. Unlike other devices, if the password is entered in incorrectly too many times on a blackberry, it wipes itself.

Man that sucks I feel for you...

If your're on a BES server contact your BES system admin as they can do a remote wipe for you.

And for future use I would setup a password as it it's entered two many times it will wipe your phones data.

You also might want to invest in some software such as Innovative Mobile Softwares For Business and Individuals - The D-Studio DexMobile or Convenience Software along with the password.

If you're not on a BES, look into Roblock.

Haha, they do. Only if I had faster fingers.

One day, maybe.

Too late now but not setting the password on any device like this that has so much personal info on it (at least I do because I have everything in my Outlook Contacts which are synced to my BB), is just plan stupid. (No offense to OP but sometimes smart people do stupid things.) Yes, it's sometimes annoying to have to enter the password everytime you want to do anything but it would be so much more annoying to worry about the info being compromised. I even set the number of attempts to 5 instead of 10.
