Hi Guys Just to let you know that I got in touch with the Empower guys and they sent me an unlock code so even though the firewall is still enabled and I will have to wait for OS 4.5 to unlock it I can at least use Empower with no restrictions.
Similar situation for me. I have an 8820 running 4.5. I have removed the Vendor and Policy files. I have done the factory reset. I show there is no IT policy yet I still have that little red lock next to enabled. My problem is that I get an error because using "Eoffice" gives me an error saying that I am trying to access both within and outside of the firewall. After all of this I did a ractory reset without restoring my old back up. The little red lock is no longer there and the firewall is disabled.
I hope there is a more detailed way to do this. Every time I synchronize the firewall becomes enabled. To make it worse I have renamed my Documents to go so I can get the updated version. It seems as I am in a loop. If I allow Documents to go to be in my loader directory something else load the firewall. If I remove the DTG from the loader dir then I cannot do the upgrade because there is no program there. If I backup after removing the firewall, that is great until I restore. So, How do I get the latest DTG.alx or a security program without the firewall? Confused and worn.
Use Jl_Cmder and reset to factory to remove lock on firewall. Also note that the version of DM might have a policy located in the folder that pushes to your device when you use it.
