Default Storm clock

Does the clock on the storm automatically adjust the time via satellite? On older phones, the time was always correct even if traveling through time zones, etc. but the storms clock seems to be fast. Any ideas?

You have to choose the "Time Zone" on your Storm and it will do the rest for you from there. The default "Date and Time Source" is the network which works fine.

You can access the "Date and Time" utility by pressing the Clock icon, then pressing the BB Menu button. Select "Set Time" and from there you can select your time zone, time format, and date time source.

My time is very accurate.

From the clock hit the BB/Menu button and choose Options. First, set your time zone. Next, choose the Set Tim button just below your time zone. In the next menu set the Date/Time Source to Network and you'll be good to go.

Default Clock

Now if we could get a clock ap that you could set for your current time zone, with alarm feature, without affecting your home time and appointments. Seems easy...

Default Clock vanished

Hey all,

My clock keeps vanishing randomly. Some nights when I plug it in the clock comes up. Others just a blank screen with a flashing green (charging) indicator.

Anyone else seen this?

Its not a major concern, but it just shows me the coding in this OS needs some more tweaking.

Wow,

no I haven't. That's odd. I've been through a few OS upgrades without that one.

Maybe a wipe and restore might fix it? If it bugs you. If you do it, let me know. I am curious to see if its a software glitch or a hardware issue.

Despite having the phone set to update via Network I found my Storm did not adjust automatically when I was in USA last week!

Found that odd as any other phone (BB, SE or Nokia) all adjusted perfectly!

I had the same problem while travelling this weekend. Although I had the time source set to "network" the main display clock always showed the time in my home area.

I can't believe you need to adjust the timezone setting every time you travel. All phones update automatically.... My cousin had a Bold with him and experienced the same issue

My Storm clock was about 5 min fast. When I went to the clock settings, it was getting it's time from "blackberry". When I changed it to "network" the time went back immediately to the correct time. Someone at RIM should adjust their servers.

Being PDA's and not just phones, Blackberry's probably don't auto adjust to time zones you travel through to avoid unanticipated changes to calendar items and such. Which approach is best could be debated.

I'm okay with setting the time zone when I travel, it keeps me on time for meetings.

As far as the clock vanishing, I have not seen that issue in any of the OS revisions I've tried but last week my alarm did NOT go off as expected and I was late for work.

Goodbye .109
