Default Calls from locked screen

Please Login to Remove!

I just updated my phone from OS .144 to .152 and i lost the ability to make calls from the locked screen. It used to give me the option to
1. Unlock
2. Make a call
3. Make an emergency call
4. Cancel

Now it only gives me
1. Unlock
2. Make an emergency call
3. Cancel

Anyone know how to place calls from this screen without unlocking my phone or going back to the old OS?

I have never seen this option on any of my blackberrys so I did a little searching. It seems that BES offers an IT policy setting (blackberry.com support doc here) that allows you to enable/disable this.

If you have this policy setting rule installed you can enable it by going to options > security options > general settings > allow outgoing calls while locked >yes/no.

I had this option on my 8700g but for some reason it's not on the 8900. Does this mean i have to enable this policy? and if so where on the phone do you do this?

Wirelessly posted

Funny I never knew that was possible when you make a call from the locked phone does it give you access to your phone book or you have to know the number?

Yes, it does, and that's why it's pretty useless for anybody who is protecting his BB with password. However, if you have set the screen lock without a password, it might be convenient to enable outgoing calls while locked.

No it does not give you access to your phone book, you need to know the phone number.

Interesting. Is that from your own experience? I definitely have access to my phone book when I set a password and allow outgoing calls.

Yes this is from experience. When I lock the phone with a password, I do not have access to my phonebook. Is there an option to turn it on or off?
