Personally I love the 8900 better.
Yeah the 8900 is sexy and super light, I also was surprised to see that they kept those damn keys.... Maybe I'm crazy but the sound of clicky keys drives me nuts

Do you happen to know how that will compare to 4G (If we ever see that lol).

Or when the next revisions are expected to be rolled out?
I'm hearing the Rev. 2 is scheduled for about 6 months from now, but the schedule is still very tentative and subject to all kinds of factors that could change it. And of course all predictions, mine included, are best viewed with a bit of skepticism. I trust my sources, but I also keep a healthy measure of "I'll believe it when I see it" in my holster.

Comparisons with 4G/LTE are a long ways off! RIM engineers are still modeling how it will be handled and don't yet have a firm grasp on how they'll incorporate it into future models. Look how long it took RIM to get normal 3G into Blackberrys!

Yea, You are probably right about the 4G, not sure how long it took RIM to get 3G in the mix since my first BB was the 8830 which was 3G

Thanks for the info on Rev. 2.

Bold for me.

There is no way I would settle for a 2G phone. Being to look something up while on a call is important to me. I don't understand why people think the Bold is huge-it is not.

I love having the area to type and the larger screen to watch a movie or surf (ever try an E71?).

The 8900 has a slower processor. The only thing I see better is the camera but seriously who cares? Its a phone camera. Even N96 snapshots looks crappy on a computer or in print.

My only complaint is this: why is the internet so damn slow. Even using Opera mini it is a slug on wifi and 3G compared to the E71 (absolutely no comparison). Processing time of pages seems to take forever.

Bold it is! Why would anybody turn back in time with a 3G-less smartphone in 2009?!
@Blue1k: I think internet is slow because data packets go through RIM's servers (for the built-in browser) or through Opera's servers (for Opera Mini). We would need a browser that is able to use Direct TCP connection to avoid this slowness.

My next berry will be the 8900, or whatever model it may be around the time i'm up for an upgrade. I like the 8900, size, screen res, vs, the size of the bold.

Maybe for the Blackberry browser, but Opera mini on the E71 and the G1 (on edge) was so much faster. Basically on the E71 it was almost instant.

Any other ideas. It should not be this slow for a phone with such a sweet core speed.

*edit. Changing the socket to http allows mini direct connection to opera servers. It is much faster now
