Default Texting question

Please Login to Remove!

OK, I'm a bit embarrased to ask this question, but I can't figure out how to do this.

With AT&T, if you enter *MIN# and hit send, you'll get a text back with your remaining minutes.

With my old Pearl, I would just go into the phone function, I would just enter what I said above. *MIN# <SEND>

Well I just got a BOLD, and when I try to do this in the phone function, I'll type * but when I type M, it changes the * to an A. It's like it's trying to auto correct.

What am I missing?

Thanks

You may have accidentally pressed the Alt button which switches the characters on the keys.

Nope. I hit the * key and the * does show up in the screen, but as soon as I hit M, it changes the * to an A, so now AM is displayed.

If you type it all out and press send, the device should convert it for you. Have you tried that, or do you just get discouraged and not try?

I see your issue. I just tried it on mine.

You're dialing *min#, correct?

Try dialing it like this. Press * then press and hold Alt while dialing MIN, release Alt then press #.

See if that works for you.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

Maybe you can add it to your dictionary so it won't do that in the future.

I believe you mean Address Book. That would be a wise idea if you call this frequently.

No I ment dictionary, but that's a better idea putting it in the address book.

It worked to display *MIN# but when i press call or enter, it says loading then says unknown application...weird...any solutions to that?
