Default album covers

When I play music from my 8900 some of the albums display album art in the middle of the screen above to track time, some albums do not display the cover art. All the albums have the cover art in their folders, any clue why this is?

What file types are the ones that work? The ones that don't?

Make sure the cover art is embedded in the .mp3 file.

Thumbs up

Actually, from what I've read, there is a bit of an issue when some mp3's have embedded album art and there is album art in the folder at the same time. In those cases, album art will not display properly due to conflicts in the way the player handles the display.

So make sure that for whatever album(s) you are having cover problems, you don't have both methods going at once. (I rarely look at the covers while my music is playing, so I don't care much either way, thus I haven't bothered to see wich method works best.)

+1 on that. If you have album art on iTunes and do the Media Sync, all the art is displayed on the BB.

Yup. I use iTunes to add album art to all my music, but I keep my music in Windows MY MUSIC, not the iTunes library, and any changes I make using iTunes are made to the library too. When I drag/drop music to the card the album art is hit and miss. When I use Mediasynch (not DM mind you, just the iTunes plugin standalone from BB) all the art is there. Go figure.

Keep in mind you have to embed the cover art from within iTunes. You can't just tell iTunes to get the cover art.

Right click on an mp3, select Get Info. Under the summary tab, you have to have the cover art shown here in order for your Blackberry to display it.

I think if iTunes shows it the bb will show it as long as you use Media Mgr to add ir. Half the time itunes finds my art and the other half I add it from Amazon and it all show on the bb. Usually I see nothing in the art square under INFO.
