I have searched but can not find a solution to my exact problem. I'm using DM 4.7 with media on my vista 64 bit pc. My phone is a vzw 8330. When I open DM it says "none" next to pin. I click that and it shows usb or BT. I chose usb and select ok. Now it still says none next to pin on DM. I go to add or remove software it doesn't allow me to enter a pin or password. Any ideas? Oh I disabled UAC and still no luck.

Try rebooting your PC and do a battery pull on your phone.

Once done - connect your phone via USB wait for it to connect then open up DM.

I get the same thing occasionally and that is what I do.

ok I just tried it and still no luck. Should I put the phone on mass storage mode when I connect or no?

Mass storage mode won't affect anything in this case. That's only when you have a microSD card installed and you want to use it like a flash drive.

If it were me I would probably uninstall 4.7 and download and install 4.5 or 4.6 to see if and earlier version works.

There are several instances of people having similar issues with 4.7 and went back to earlier versions.

Also - if you have another mini USB cable try using the different cable.

When you installed the DM did you Run As administrator or disable UAC before the install?

Make sure that you are plugged directly into the PCs USB, not via a HUB. Also, it seems that plugging into a USB in the back of the PC works better.

Ok thanks everyone for the help. Its still not working for me though. I have installed 4.6, I have used 2 different usb cords, and I disabled UAC before I installed DM. Anything else? Its odd that so many ppl have problems with the software. Is it because I'm using vista? Thanks for any help

Weird and when you disabled UAC, you did the required re-boot..

Have you tried disabling your Security software (FireWall, AV, AntiSpyware, etc) before installing the software.
