Default BOLT vs Opera

Please Login to Remove!

I just downloaded the newest version of BOLT to my phone and it's not bad. I like how it renders pages more like a computer than a phone. Has anyone tried Opera on the Storm? I used to have it on my Pearl and my gf had it on her 8830 but it seems like it's almost exactly the same as BOLT (from what I remember). Have you tried both? Does one work better on the Storm?

RIM really needs to make a better browser in their devices...

Why don't you install Opera and find out for yourself which one is better?

Honestly though, I prefer the default browser.

Wirelessly posted (9530)

i used bolt briefly and liked it too...
Not too thrilled about running beta apps on my fone, so i uninstalled it.
But when it goes mainstream, i'm in...

i think bolt have HUGE potential though.

I mean, really though, RIM? I had my pearl for almost a year before i got my Storm and i still love it to this day. I could've totally waited for a FULLY FUNCTIONAL device before i got this thing- but don't get me wrong- i love the storm haha.

That's it, i'm going to get certified in Project Management. Being in IT and seeing things like Vista and the Storm makes me wonder how those guys got their jobs. "hmmm... we're a little behind but i guess we can release to the public like this." If i didnt have a little downtime each day to troll blackberry forums for new OSes, i would seriously want the time of my life back haha.

I have a Verizon Storm, and Opera works on mine. As it has not yet been optimized for this phone, the navigation with the touch screen is a little funky. two quick taps as opposed the a press. It's fast though.

Default BOLT vs Opera

I have both. There is some things i like with bolt and somethings with opera.
It is easyer to use Opera and it's faster then Bolt but with Bolt you can view the whole web site unlike with opera some web pages go to mobile view. If there is a way to change the setings on Opera to view the whole web page then it would be no competition but for now i use Bolt for some web pages and Opera for others. My Storm is Verizon and i have no problem with the services for ether.

I have to agree... at least on the Storm. I loved Opera Mini on my Pearl. But the default browser has better functionality with the touchscreen on the Storm.

Bolt is FAST, but its not designed for a touch screen, I can see that it would be great on the curve/bold ect.. Some links are hard to click with Bolt, it like I move the cursor over the link, but its not close enough, a little more, little more there you go... hitting the correct bookmark is a challenge also, but man its FAST !!

I'm re'instaling Opera tonight, I have to give it a second chance, I installed it last weekend and un installed it a few minutes later, did not like it at all, same issues I think, had a hard time clicking links with the touch screen.

At least with the default browser you know when your on a link.
