Default Caller Can Hear me...i Cant hear them

Please Login to Remove!

So - I used to have this problem with my 8320..which I always thought it was because I was over UMA - until it started happening randomly all the time and Tmobile replaced it and never had the problem again.

Last Friday i was on the phone and suddenly couldn't hear anything. I called the person back and they said they could hear me. Thought this was isolated case.

Now tonight, I call someone - cant hear anything - call back and they said they could hear me. Call another person and it happens again.

I initally thought it was probably the beta .199 im running - but I didn't install that until monday - and I had the problem on Friday.

On a side note - since installing .199 it's been dropping UMA usually right at the BEGINNING of a call though - never in the middle.

I'm more concerned about the not being able to hear issue - has anyone else had this happen. I really do not want to have to send in for a new phone.(specially if they are now handing out refurbs as replacements)

Appreciate any feedback...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

I haven't had this issue with my Curve 8900. I don't make a lot of calls, though. However, all my calls are usually over UMA. I, too, am running the .199 OS.

I really don't have a clue whats going on...

i have to WiFi's that i can connect though - one of them wont even connect to UMA - and the other one connects to UMA - but when i go to make a call - it doesnt ring - other times it rings 4 times and hangs up automatically. thing is..im calling my work that only rings once and computer system answers..and calling voicemail..

I'm really hoping tmobile is just having issues with UMA right now...really screwed up and i want to know whats going on

I'm having the same problem. It started today for me. I'm running 174. It only happens on UMA. I switched to EDGE and all is well. Switched back to UMA and problem returns.

Tmobile is claiming that they dont have any network issues right now. Though as it just started last night/this morning for me and you - I would guess its just the beginning of the problem and they haven't confirmed it yet. Hopefully it's not like other UMA outages I've experienced where it was over a week before anything was fixed. and tmobile somehow thought giving me 100 bonus minutes would be suffice to fixing the problem - when every month I have well over 300-400 minutes left to use.

The real problem is - there's areas where I really rely on UMA... grr.

T-mobile for you today!

Have you tried a different UMA connection? I haven't left my location yet today. I assume this is a phone issue or a Tmo issue and not just limited to my router (and yours). I'm going to reboot my router when I get a chance to see if that makes a difference.

I've tried 3 different UMA connections - same problem. I've restarted all the modems - same problem.

Tmobile "refreshed" my network and had me take out sim and battery for 30 seconds - problem continues.

Yeah - I rebooted my modem & router and no change. I assume this is more widespread than you and me.
