Try re-seating your SIM card (remove it and re-insert it).

Have you dropped it lately? Exposure to moisture?

Maybe a call to your carrier is needed.

I did not drop it, no moisture. The phone is unlocked, so I am not tied up to a carrier. I went to BB repair shop, they are going to test it. Can I return it the RIM as it is unlocked? I used it for a month and it quit

You might need to update/reinstall the OS. Sometimes a persistent lack of network is a sign of corruption in the OS but not enough corruption to give you the 507 Error screen or completely crash the BB. Just enough to screw with the BB's ability to find a network.

good thing you can get an exchange and also if you get an SOS problem it may mean the sim isn't tight against the contacts
