Default using the BES to deploy new OS to devices?

Please Login to Remove!

I've inherited a BES and i'm now the officially unofficial BES Admin for our organization. We have 31 users, we are running 4.1.6.16 - i've been asked to find a way to use the BES to deploy new a OS to the devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i apologize if this is a duplicated topic, i search for BES Deploy and for Deploy OS with no results

It cannot be done at this time.
Most OS deployments must be done via local desktop manager, or WDM (web desktop manager).

Verizon, and some other carriers, are starting to do wireless OS updates on the carrier side starting with OS 4.5 and up. BES really doesn't get involved in this process other than being able to permit and request the OS update for the handheld. BES isn't pushing the update to the device.

See this thread for more detailed info:

BES 5, last I heard, will support OTA OS updates though, assuming the devices are already on 4.5. That will be a welcome day.
