I don't see why upgrading your BB's OS would do anything on your PC. It's just the OS for the device itself.

Wirelessly posted (Irish Rose's BB 8310 Curve.)

As long as you have the documents to go icon on your BB device, you should be able to use it without a problem.

updating your device and updating desktop manager are 2 separate installations. latest DTM is 4.7 but DTM also has nothing to with docstogo. Except for the fact that you can go into media manager in DTM and transfer .doc, .xls, and .ppl between device and PC. But you can also do this thorugh mass storage mode in MyComputer (if you have a media card)
With free docstogo, you can view and edit documents on your device but you cant make them. you will have to use MS office on your PC to do that

E-mailing them as an attachment is a common method.

Copying it directly to the card while the device is connected to a computer in Mass Storage Mode.

Be sure that Mass Storage Mode is enabled.

Go to Options > Media Card > Media Card Support > On
and then Mass Storage Mode Support > On
and then Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected > (set to Yes or Prompt)

Then when you connect the device to the computer with the USB cable and enable Mass Storage Mode, the card will show up as a Removable Drive on the computer.

Then you can just copy files over the same as you would do any drive or location the the computer.

Default BB OS Upgrade & Compatible Desktop Version

Question: Does my desktop software have to be at a specific version to work with the latest OS software (4.5.0.152)?

In my case, I'd be upgrading my 8310 Curve from V4.2.2.170 to AT&T's BB version 4.5.0.152. My Desktop Software is at 4.2.2.14. Must I upgrade it too?

Thanks, Loungesurfer

You don't have to upgrade your BB DM.

you will benefit to upgrade your DTM to atleast 4.5... but you can also go up to 4.6 or 4.7 as well.... but you do not have to update at all... you can continue to use 4.2 if you like.

another way to get your docs2go programs to your device besides emailing or mass storage mode is with media manager in desktop manager.
