Unhappy Default Videos on Bold 9000?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know what the default videos are that come with a Bold 9000? (Ideally in the UK on an unlocked handset)

The reason I'm asking is that I have now had 2 "brand new" handsets individually delivered which have both said the handset is registered with another carrier when I try to register them, and they both have some strange videos on them that I cannot believe RIM would ship with... e.g. Nokia 5800 Xpress including 6 different hints & tips videos for the Nokia too...

I think this particular vendor (probably the largest in the UK) is installing their own "CPW Navigator" software on the phone & messing it up each time - if that's possible.

Anyway, if anyone has the answer, please let me know, so I can go throw a 2nd handset back at them!

All I wanna do is setup & play with my new toy... I've never had a BB before!

Aaarrggghh!

Wirelessly posted (Tmob's cheapest BB customer)

What sort of videos are they. The one that came with my BB was a BB promo one.

Sound like you've got a second hand one!

So you bought a brand new unlocked device?

Allegedly they have both been brand new... My guess is maybe they were brand new, but when CPW put their CPW Navigator s/w on, they've possibly got a corrupt build & I've had 2 of 'em.

Saying that, I'm sure they sell thousands of these a week, so how come no one else has mentioned it yet?? Its so frustrating, especially because the guys in my local shop are so nice & helpful that you can't even go in there shouting!!!

I couldn't care less about the videos, its just that I can't register the damn handset so I can't get my email sorted.

Yeah, no use going in shouting, won't get you anywhere.

Out of interest, were these videos on the device, or on the memory card that came with the device?

What you could do, it call your carrier, and find out which network the PIN is already registered on (their BB support team can tell you this), give that network a call, and speak nicly they might tell you when it was registered and might ever unregister it for you.

I've got a 9000 and I got the following as default vids on Vodafone:

BMW_M3
In_This_Life_DeltaGoodrem
SpeedRacer_democlip

I've written them exactly how they appear in the list and I hope it helps a little

Enter the doofus!!!

I can't believe this, but I have the same videos as above... All the additional videos were on a memory card that I was given which I had stupidly assumed was clean! skyman84, it was your question that gave me that sinking feeling when you think "oh noooo, did I check if they were on the memory card or the phone!!!"

I know I'm new to this, but I feel soooo stooooopid!

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice. Once again...
