I have just purchased a Storm and realize that my fingers are too big for the touch screen keyboard. I keep hitting the wrong keys. Does anyone know if there is something else that I can use to tap the keys (like a pencil eraser) that would work. The eraser didn't work...lol. Thanks in advance.

Tweak your keyboard settings under options/screen/keyboard... scroll down to 'touchscreen' and tinker with "tap interval, Hover period and Swipe sensitivity."
Mine are set to 500, 100 and High (6) respectively.

EDIT: there is nothing you can use; except your fingers.... hence the above suggestion for keyboard settings. I have large fingers too, these settings work for me in addition to using only a portion of my thumbs to type.

How does the touch phone work. Does it go by the temperature of your fingers? I tried using a pencil eraser and that didn't work. How does the phone know it isn't a finger? I told you this was a dumb question!

Someone can correct me if I am wrong here, but most touch screens work by using the human finger to complete a circuit. The human finger is the ground for the circuit.

Simplistically speaking that is correct. The small current that runs through your body changes the capacitive charge that is stored in the screen at the point of contact and thus registers the "touch". You have to make direct contact with the screen (no stylus, gloves, etc.)

Give it some time. There is a learning curve with the screen but eventually you will get the hang of it. One thing that I found to be extremely helpful and minimizes typing errors is not to overlap your fingers when typing across the keyboard (i.e right thumb is used to press letters on the right hand of the screen and the left for letters on the left side). If you look at the keyboard it is pretty much divided in half. I initially found my self alternating between left and right when I type.

For example if you were to type "are" all three clicks should be with your left thumb.

just to add confusion to this, i can type using a golf glove though....wouldnt the leather stop that current from touching the screen ?

I could be totally wrong, but I assume the leather of the glove is just like having a slightly thicker skin.
