.141 has been working fine for me. No complaints, nothing really new.

J,
how is EDGE, edge? Constant or does it take the few reboots to hold?

Working better than 132. I was having phone issues with that version.

It's been solid since the first hour.
I don't know that I have ever posted my "routine" and what I do after loading new OS releases:
--Get the upgrade all completed, (browser deleted, etc, following the process in the Sticky note, Service Books resent, TCP set, etc.
--Manage Connections > Mobiule Network Options > Set the Network Mode to 2G only.
--Then, if I don't EDGE (only edge), I will turn off the Mobile Network (by UNchecking the box at Manage Connections), and waiting for it to be OFF, the rechecking the Mobile Network to make it active.
Sometimes I will get EDGE immediately, or it may flucuate from EDGE to edge back to EDGE. I may have to turn off and on the Mobile Network a few times before EDGE remains solid, but when it does, it is normally steady and doesn't fluctuate.

I tried to get some info on the .141 before installing, but unfortunately I cannot read all the trash over at the junior-high school site that some may know.
Anyway, the one thing I did get out of it while scanning through the junk was that the "lock" function on .141 was kind of weird. People were reporting that basically touching anything....screen, buttons, whatever will actually unlock the phone instead of the lock only button. Can anyone confirm this? Since I'm a pocket carrier this wouldn't work worth a damn for me.

Just out of curiosity, what is EDGE? I see it mentioned a lot in various forums but have no clue what you are speaking about.

EDGE is what's used on GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon's equivalent on their CDMA network is 1XEV. Since the Storm supports both GSM and CDMA, you're able to roam on GSM networks when Verizon isn't available, and other people are able to unlock the phone to use a GSM network as their main one.
That's the best interpretation I can give, and it's probably partly wrong. lol

One thing I noticed is that the video capture is faster. Before there was a couple of seconds lag between stop/start but now it works almost immediately.

been reading the findings threads over @ the other forums....
so far this OS has the following problems:
-lock/unlock doesn't work
-quicklaunch causes screen to flicker
other minor stuff was the color banding is still present (it's not really an 'issue' per se), but i've read this OS has a stable radio (confirmed one thread for 1XEV to 1xev jumping fixed) - not really sure if this holds true for GSM users...
anyone wanna post their findings here so we know what we're in for when trying this OS ?

Yea, I do see the lock is not working.
QuickLaunch flashes
I've never had the color banding issue (or I just have not been able to recreate it).

regarding the color banding, maybe you haven't noticed it ? it's because you have to look closely at the icons and shaded areas on the screen....
for example, when highlighting something blue, look closely and you'll notice the gradient of color is defined by 'bands' of blue, rather than a smooth undetectable transistion...same thing with the icons that are not highlighted, if you press the menu button and you see all your icons on a black background, you will see the lighter shaded regions of the icons (at the top of each icon) have bands of gray.
if you aren't experiencing this, maybe you have an updated version of the phone and it doesn't do that with newer OS's....

I installed .141.this morning all seems to be working well
seemed a little buggy at first did a couple battery pulls seems to work well
Looks like Verizon moved on playing games with Apple and Microsoft -- look as if the storm is old news
I think verizon decided to let those with issues load what ever leaked OS version works and not worry about it anymore
Stable started at .113 .122 .132 now .141 here are four OS's any of which are day and night better than .075
I see Storm's being free with 2 year contract to finish clearing out the inventory --by the time we storm owners can upgrade it wil be to the LTE versions of the iPhone or Windows Mobile 7 phone or BB's next gen touch screen ...
Hopefully RIM will continue to update The storm as needed
Not a rant just what we storm owners seem to be facing

I don't seem to have that.
And my device is not newer, it is older. As in pre-launch age.

Can someone answer this definitively? I don't want to upgrade and ruin my hybrid OS if it doesn't solve the problem.

Definitively? No.
My experience is this build is better than .131 and .122 on holding EDGE.
