Default How can I use email from a domain name?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

First question, first Blackberry as of about 12 hours ago! Absolutely in love with this thing so far.

I have set-up personal BIS email using which is fine.

The problem is I am setting up a new website and have a website with cpanel and a domain name. At present I have set up all mail from the website to forward to my normal email. This is fine in Thunderbird on my PC, as I can select my "reply from" address from a list I have so it looks as if mail is coming back from "team@iblbuilder.com".

But I cannot do that on the BB. I can only reply using my personal email as the replying address.

Could someone guide me as to how I can push email from a cpanel website to my blackberry and reply using the sites domain name?

Many thanks.

Jason

You should be able to setup the domain's email address on BIS too.
Then email will come from that domain, but with the 2 email addresses, it will let you change the "reply from" field.

Yea what Midnight said... BIS will allow you to set up multiple address's. Just keep in mind that if it can't pull the server names automatically you might have to put them in.

Thanks for the replies.

Im still not sure how to do it though. I set up an additional account on the blackberry, but its not using it. The mail from the domain forwards to my personal email, so it comes into the blackberry in the personal email inbox and I cannot reply using the domains email as a replying address.

You need to log back into the BIS site and set it up in there.

Thanks. Its "sort" of working now. I can send an email to the domain account, but as it routes through my personal email account I receive the email twice, once in each BIS account. Oh well, its nearly workable!

Do you mean the email shows in both the Messages folder and the BIS email folder?

Yea it'll show twice because you're also forwarding it, if you stop the forward then you'll only get it on the domain address.

I have two "account" icons and the default "messages" one. The email from the domain is appearing in all three, because the domain one is routed through the personal email address.

If I dont route it through my personal pop3 email I dont know how the BB can retreive email from a cpanel server directly and repsond through it as its not a true mail server in its own right?

As long as in cpanel you have it setup as a regular mail account instead of just a forward then you won't have any problems. My setup is exactly like yours and I have my e-mail setup in cpanel as a regular mail account and the BB has no problems sending or receiving from it as long as it's also setup on the BIS site.
