STORM users probably will never be as fast as hard keyboard users...but I got my wife a Curve and I'm a big Pearl (suretype) fan...I can type fast enough on my STORM to get my point across and I am much faster than my wife on her Curve (but I think that's more because she is new to BB and I'm an old hand) - bottom line is if top speed on a device is your thing, the Curve is probably your best bet. If you want a large screen and many multimedia features, then STORM can't be beat.

I went from the Curve to the Storm.
I cant type as fast, but I love the other features of the Storm.
I also had a huge satisfaction upgrade when I did and OS upgrade.
If I had to type a huge number of messags, I might move to the Curve, though.
I actually went from a Bold to a Storm. I got pissed off with the software on the Storm, went back to the Bold for a couple of days. Loaded 141/5.0 with the 90 radio file and have been back on the Storm ever since.
Certainly slower to type on and far from perfect. But somehow I prefer the whole touch UI.
I just got my Storm last night from the Curve 8330. I will say that I miss the hard keyboard but I am getting used to the typing on the touch screen. I love to text and do emails but I dont type a book anyhows, just short stuff. It does take awhile to get used to but i LOVE the screen and the pics are gorgeous and everything else. NOT a huge fan of the touch keyboard but I am getting the hang of it now. I will be upgrading the OS tongiht when i get home. The screen is taking awhile to change over from portrait to landscape. That is pissing me off!
