Going back to .119. Miss the phone timer and the slow wake-from-sleep is annoying.

Who would accept a home phone that blasted out the speakerphone for a quick second when answered?
Me... but I don't work in an office. It's a non-issue for me. Phone stays in the holster when I answer on my bluetooth, which is most of the time, so I rarely even notice it. In my typical working environment, I can't even hear the phone's ringer; if not for the bluetooth I wouldn't even know I had an incoming call.

So are there any useful upgrades or fixes with this latest release?

I'm not upgrading my software until the speakerphone blast issue is corrected. Eh, the tour will probably be out by then anyway.

If there's no real benefit to doing the upgrade, then no reason to mess with what you have. I, on the other hand, always feel compelled to load the latest OS just for fun to see what it fixes or breaks.

Default trackball

I upgraded my wife's 8330...the backlight delay went away, but now the trackball is not very responsive...i have to roll it 3 or 4 times before it moves in some screens. I took the trackball out & cleaned it but, still the same. Anybody else seeing that? I will remove this upgrade to see if that fixes.

Is this an issue? Is anyone else on VZW having the GPS fail? If it doesn't work, I won't upgrade. I use VZNav all the time.

Wirelessly posted

I went ahead and upgraded this morning. Everything with GPS is fine.

What I did notice is that I no longer have elapsed time on the screen during a call. Anyone else notice this?

Well I apologize for not reading all the posts and not seeing the call timer previously mentioned.

That is actually my only complaint so far. Call timer.

This is for the 8330, your profile shows you have the 8310. This will not load on the 8310. You need to click on the sticky for your device model.

FYI...my wifes curve's trackball just happened to go bad at the same time of the upgrade to the newer OS. I swapped trackballs & all is good.

Question Didn't work, help

I downloaded and installed the new OS. How do I tell if it actually updated my OS properly?

Here is what I see on the 'About' screen:
"Blackberry 8330
smartphone (CDMA)
v4.5.0.138 (Platform 3.4.0.3.0)
.
.
."

Shouldn't it be listed as v4.5.0.205?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

You upgraded to the right version. .138 is what you should see.

When you say there is a delay waking from sleep, is that when you lock your phone or when you hit the mute key?

If you're having issues with your device connect, try these steps:

I tried to download and install via loader.exe but won't allowed me to update to 4.5.0.138, also I tried update to 4.5.0.160 but still won't allow me to do.

I have buggy OS 4.5.0.77 that cause mute button to not work at random time.

I'm 8330 user from Verizon.

Are you deleting the vendor.xml file? What happens? Why won't it allow you? Are you getting an error?
