Default No Signal just an "x" by the signal meter

Please Login to Remove!

I have an Alltel Blackberry Curve that the trackball was hard to work, since it was still under warranty I carried it up to the local Alltel store to see if they could help me. They said no problem & said I would get a new one in the mail & to just send in my old one when it arrived. 2 days later I got the replacement. Sent the old one in & all was good. Well 2 months later I recieved my old phone & they had denied the warranty "water damage" whatever, anyway. I had to return the new one. When you turned my old phone on, nothing but a white screen, well I found this site & downloaded the OS software for the phone, after loading it i thought all was good. It came up just fine & restred a back up that I had so off to Alltel i went to reactivate it. Now here comes the problem. Everything works fine except that I can not get ANY signal at all. There is just an "x" beside the signal meter on the screen. Alltel tried but they couldn't get it to work, they called their "tech" support but still no help. CAN ANYONE HELP ME???

First step and I'm being serious, did you pay your bill? Second my might try logging in to your BIS account and resend your service books. (C) have you pulled the battery? Sometimes a battery pull will kick it in the butt and fix alot of problems. Also what did Alltel say exactly?

If you'd left out everything else, I'd say turn the radio off and then back on again. Give that a try, but with all the other stuff I'm guessing the BB has serious issues.

Yes, my bill is paid & active, during the time that my blackberry has been down I have my HTC activated on my #. Pulled the battery several times, reloaded the OS software, nothing helps. Alltel said that the warranty people said that it had water damage & that is was ruined.

Try turning on your mobile network under manage connections, or maybe re-load your OS

It sounds like the Radio is off. Or if it is set to roam only under mobile network and there is no one to roam off.

Turning the radio off shows that it is off, as soon as I turn the radio on it goes straight to the "x". I have reloaded the OS several times. Come on guys, I need some help. Someone has to know how to fix this.

Wirelessly posted (Hey I'm cool…)

How do they get water damage? You are sure you haven't got it wet. It could be that moisture got into the phone and shorted out the radio part of the board. If that's the case send it to Horizon wireless and they can get it fixed.
