From experience
I am ranking Social Scope above ubertwiter. However, this may change as these groups release upgraded versions.

SocialScope is a pretty clean app with a really nice UI, I just wanna see how my battery life goes...

My battery dropped to 5% yesterday so I couldn't make any phone calls on my way home :(

Right now its touching a narrow market. I would shell out the money if it does what it purports to do.

TG price at 5-10 bucks seems reasonable enough for a twitter app.. I probably wouldn't any more then that however.

I like the twitter but again there are good programs for free. I think tweet genius has popups which I would never use.

Im going to have to go with twittergenius as of today. it basically takes what the rest of the twitter clients all do, and puts them together in one very attractive GUI that doesn't kill battery so far, and it's cheap, 5$. Miss out on a Starbucks latte for a day and you got the price of TG.

I think Dawg see this as matter of principle.

Again tell me why it beats a free one? Social scope hasnt killed my battery yet.

And you will never find me in a STarbucks paying for over priced nasty coffee.

I haven't tried anything else, but my two cents: I've been using twitterberry on my 8820 - now using the beta #6 I think - and I leave it running most of the time. No issues. Doesn't seem to be much demand on the battery. (my twitter name is aihpcfl)

I've been using SocialScope (FREE) all day and have to say, I am impressed. I really like Ubertwitter, too... but until I see its beta-2 release, I have to say I have some serious reservations about UT... mainly battery drain.

I agree with those who ask "why pay anything for a different app when there are good ones for free?"...

The one thing with buying a Twitter app, while it is on the cheap side, the free apps will eventually catch up. Granted it's a mere 10 bucks. After a few months.. it would seem like a waste.

Unfortunately, SocialScope is in private beta' at this point. You can sign up at SocialScope - A Mobile Inbox for your Social Networks, but there is currently a wait to get a link to the download.

The next best app is Ubertwitter. It is pretty good - the only major issue is the battery drain issue... developers say that they are working on that issue.

Perfectly stated. As I was mentioning to SteveO, battery power may supercede features.

TwitterGenius is good... except that it's slow as dirt and has a low storage ability for tweets. (only 500 and download 200 at a time? c'mon)
UberTwitter has a weird UI and it doesnt tell me which tweets i've read and which are new.
I would love to try SocialScope but their lack of communication is utterly unparalled.
Tinytwitter is for 4.2 devices (i'd rather have a built-for-storm app) and twitterberry is like, the diet coke of ubertwitter.
