Hi all, newbie here. Had Pearl for about year, for some reason i am not able to enter numbers at all, tried ALT and I can see on top right hand corner it is switching between alphabets and numbers but still its not taking numbers.

Had same problem before, went to store, the guy restarted it and worked. Tried that several times but no luck. Searched in forum did not see problem.

Really appreciate your help and thanks in advance!

Are you able to type in numbers in the dial pad?

Otherwise, once again, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Ive been having the same issues lately. Last week whenever i click on the trackball it DIALS #1, if i click on button #1, nothign happens. if i try men clicking on an email or text, it start randomly typing letters?!...Also ive takne out the trackball cleaned abunch of time no luck. I have tried rebooting several times no luck. Only thing that worked was plugging in the phone, and restoring it!...However it was fine for about 4 days and today it started doing it again!..guess I will have to try and restore once more. losing patience with the BB pearl right about now.

Sounds like moisture damage to the keyboard, whacky keys and trackball activity is a symptom.

Is there any way to fix that, it could be possible what youre referring to, i have been at the beach and water parks a few times over the past few weeks i was there actually sunday/saturday as well!...Any suggestions for the water moisture in keyboard?
