People in Canada should realize that Rogers rips us off like crazy with their data plans.. meaning, a new data plan activation for them is beyond lovely especially those on 3yr terms... meaning... NEGOTIATE for a good price on the phone and monthly plan...

My phone price wasn't terrific... but it was $150 + $35 act. fee... with a $13 savings off the regular monthly rate as well so I'm satisfied... beats buying a new/used phone for $500.. the money saved through contracts pays for my plan for 6 months.

Stuck in a contract. I had purchased a bold at full retail (sold my 3g iPhone for $500). Bought the bold for $550 new. Returned it once the 8900 came out and got it for $450. So all in all I guess I didnt pay too much.

Renewed my AT&T contract for 2 more years and got the phone for $79.99 from Crackberry.com....No mail in rebates or nothin.

Bought it today and it will be here Mon. or Tues. for $9.99 shipping.

$89.98 TOTAL.....I'm happy : )

Also, if you sign up with AT&T with a "new" 2 year contract then the 8900 is FREE!!!

$50 total... something like a $280 off coupon and then a $50 mail-in rebate that just came the other day. Through Costco, natch.

I'm hoping someone will reply with some kind of upgrade price from TMobile. I can search ebay.
New pricing and rules came to T-Mobile on the BB series, now they do not sale withouth BB service, good for me, but some might not want it wont be happy. I dont see why having BB without it, BB MSG is the best, my wife and I use it all the time, like having her next to me all day (hmmmm ;p).

I choose the Basic plan, cheapest because I dont talk much, 300min, myfavs, 400 SMS, unlimited internet, unlimited email, with insurance.
Final cost $179
Montly cost $70

Hope that helps you.

I paid 50 dollar for a E71x, then returned it and paid another 99 to exchange for the 8900. But they refunded 64 somehow. So I guess I paid $85 with 2 year contract extension from AT&T.

bought it on wirefly.com btw.

Default -$25 through Walmart

My contract was up so I renewed for 2 years and the upgrade price on Walmart.com (through Letstalk.com) is $99.99. Toss in a $25 RAF (refer a friend) discount and my upfront cost is $74.99. Lastly, they have a $100 mail-in rebate (somewhat sketchy, have to wait 6 months to submit), so I make $25 out of this deal.

Just got the shipment notice today so I should have it in hand by Thursday. The price beats the corporate stores and my company's premier site.

Using my schools student discount (The t-mobile.com/uw) I added a line, $200 with a $100 rebate making it $99.99 no activation fees... Then within 7 days I canceled the new line since it was within the time frame you can cancel with no fees...

Tada contract free $99.99 after $100 rebate Javelin.
