One of our executives believes he could do it on his last job and I am not sure how. Is that possible or he was mistaken ?

Basically, some wav files play, some don't. Some handsets play them, some don't. On my 8700, I could not hear my Vonage voice mails, on my 8310 I could. So answer you're looking for is seeing if you can change the wav file format (compression, 8/16 bit) into something that will play - the simpler, the better.

You need to be at HH OS 4.2 or above to play .wav files ... are all of them on that?

Review the supported media types too: KB05482 - Media types supported on the BlackBerry smartphone

I am still testing the options to see which one works ? I just dont have a test envirnment and last week the BES server ahd issues I will have to wait until I get an opportunity to run tests.

Meanwhile are there any 3rd party apps out there to run the wav files.I have already done some that have failed I need a known working one if anyone has tried any out?

There isn't anything you should really need to do. Assuming the BES is at a recent build, and you have Windows Media Player 9 installed on the BES, you should be good there. On the handhelds you just need the latest 4.2.x O/S and you should be "good to go" to play all .wav or .mp3s that you get from your voicemail server. There really isn't anything else additional to install or configure.

I am having a similar issue. We just integrated a Shoretel VoIP phone system and our blackberry users are having their voicemails emailed to their handhelds. However the only format option is WAV. We have the 8320 and are running BES 4.0. Is there any third party application that will allow us to listen to the WAV attachment? Any help will be appreciated.
