Default 8900 Question - Can I Save Contacts/Messages To Expandable Memory?

Please Login to Remove!

Basically, I know you're supposed to keep your internal memory as free as possible.

So is there a way of saving all my contacts/messages to my 16g Memory card?

Cheers

For Contacts, Im not sure you can do that.

For messages: Copy message, Paste to Word doc, save Word doc in mem card.

No, you can't. They remain in the phone memory.

The external card is primarily used for media (pics, music, ringtones). You may also save documents on it but you can't store the items such as contacts & messages on it (except by using a work around as suggested by the other poster to create a copy in a document).

Hello,

When you install an application, which space does the phone use up? The device memory or your media card?

All apps install to system memory. As stated above the media card is used for pics/video/ and your ringtones and music.

App memory.
Under options - memory
it wil show app memory, device memory and media card.

app memory is where they are stored.
