Default Blackberry calendar feature I'd like to see

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone else use "all day events" as a way to list -to do's- in your calendar without having to put them in at a specific time? If so, have you ever wished you could sort them? I suppose this idea wouldn't gel with the "all day event" concept, but I'm sure that a large percentage of blackberry users put non-scheduled items and todos into their calendar on the day they'd like to get it done. I have about 15 "all day events" in my calendar for tomorrow. I know some would say that I should use a separate application for this, and I actually do use todomatrix and idea matrix, but as a general rule, my calendar runs my day. I'd love to be able to sort my "all day events" a la Todo or Idea matrix. Being able to drag and drop things in the order you'd like to do them would be a real nice feature.

If you use ToDoMatrix more it should handle your tasks well. The trick is not to add more features to Calendar - the real trick is to make better use of the software you already have. There is an excellent user guide on RexWireless' site about using ToDoMatrix effectively. It's helped me enormously! But it's a new habit you have to learn. Once you do that, your productivity should skyrocket.

Thought I was the only one who did this. I have never used a to do list.

The problem with using all day events is it blocks out your calendar for the day. I'm on a BES and if someone wants to invite me to a meeting they will see that my schedule is full and then assume I cannot attend because I am tied up all day.

I use the To/Do / Tasks list but usually use PocketDay to view them.

The problem is a lack of a comprehensive "Today" app, that mimics the simplicity and usefulness of Windows Mobile's "old" Today screen, (as in, it has been around since Windows CE 2.0 or 1.0, maybe).

Why was this feature overlooked in the OS? RIM? Anyone? Hello?

Well, there you go - I looked, and I found. There is a free Today app for the BlackBerry out there, here:

Aha, I'm not on BES, so hadn't thought of that. What about this: when composing a calendar entry, underneath the checkbox labeled "all day event", have another check box labeled "to do" or "task" which wouldn't run through BES and could be sorted in drag and drop style ala Rexwireless. The "all day events" have a diamond icon next to them, the tasks or todos could have a different icon.

I would kill for this function!!!
