Default Can you PIN across between different carriers?

Please Login to Remove!

My wife and I have service with T-Mobile and regularly PIN each other. If I switch to Verizon, can we still PIN with her remaining on T-Mobile?

Thanks

How do you pin some one? Just type in their pin into the email recipient space?

You can PIN to users on any carrier, anywhere in the world.

Default Thank you all

That will allow me to change carriers and still maintain contact with my wife via PIN.

Thanks again!

Ok, ya lost me on that one. Is this some kind of caucation ebonicks? or Abariginee sign language translated into words LOLOLOL

so, can I with a 7520 pin someone with a verison..."inset phone description here" and across diff networks? I was always under the impression that pinning someone was solely between BB's

You are right, you just dont understand. PIN'ing is solely between BB's, regardless of what carrier or model they have. go to messages and click the wheel and choose Compose Pin. now choose use once and enter my pin from below. i will respond to you.

its that simple

Are you sure there is no charge for this? I have Verizon and I think I get charged for a text message every time I PIN someone.

Thanks.

PINing will use your data, so it's probably safe to say that you will be charged, unless you have unlimited data, then it's nothing to worry about.

But PIN'ing is not the same as SMS, which you will get charged for even if you have unlimited data. SMS is very different, thus the fear that you will get charged.

You can PIN to PIN for non voice devices, like the 950, 957 and 5790; PIN is not like any other type of messaging. You do not pay for PIN to PIN messages - it is included in your monthly fee.

There is no charge for PIN messages, it uses strictly data and that is all.

No, both BB's have to have a data plan in order for PIN messages to be exchanged.

Absolutely sure. My wife and I PIN and use BBM (which also uses the PIN infrastructure) to keep in touch when she's traveling domestically and internationally. PIN's are routed through RIM's network -- hence the requirement for a Blackberry data plan. They're not handled by your carrier. That is, except to get to/from a Blackberry to/from RIM's network. However, your carrier has no way of segregating PIN messages from all other Blackberry data. Make sure you're composing a PIN and not an SMS or MMS.

Yepp, the PIN is BB so it doesn't matter the provider as long as the recepient has a BB and you know the PIN.

A free Pin to PIN software is at www.blackberry.com/messenger.

It is simple to use and works great and it's free both for service and software unlike some other programs.
