Silly as it sounds, I'd prefer to actually navigate to my mail folder and read the e-mail, as opposed to having it open and display as soon as the flip is opened. Is there an option/pref for this? Thanks!

No, there is not. All BlackBerrys will open the latest email or message if taken from the holster (or for a Flip, opened) within the 15-20 seconds of which it is received.

Gotcha, thanks. I never used "holster mode", or a magnetic BB holster with my other BBs, so I had no idea. Makes sense though.

I concur, I concur,

As high tech upgrades-they take 2 steps forward & 3 steps back...
in the Holster- "do NOT answer" when phone opens**NEVER**
a change option area is absent-OOPS missed the ball on that one!

I agree only fix wait till the envelope is OFF the top screen!!!


no other option -till the new phone comes out-again!!

hey any answer for MUTING the dialing sounds either when you dial or
when getting voice mail???

Only way around this is to have something plug to the headphones jack. the sound will come out through there not through the phones speaker.


About the original post. like Voklst said... you can wait for the message to fade... and you can actually shorten this time in notifications option.... this way you only have to wait around 4-5 seconds

my flip makes those sounds only in certain profiles... so you should check that out

thats interesting I havnt notice that, but the "Quiet" "Vibrate" and "Off" profiles doesnt make that sound... thanks for checking it out IrocD.

So you can actually Edit the "Quiet" profile to your likings (ringtones) and all but buttons sound
