That's very odd. It's working fine for me. Maybe try contacting empower?

Not really, we force expire the beta after a certain number of days just to make sure that no one is left with an older (possibly buggy) beta when a new version is released. Expiring a beta ensures that everyone moves along at the same pace.. The current beta has expired and a new update will be released Monday Evening. Stay tuned..

Thanks,
Ani.

Wouldn't it be reasonable for one to assume that the new beta version would be available BEFORE the expiring beta version actually expires? I would expect an overlap of at least a couple of days to allow us to continue using/testing the app. Seems like poor planning on someone's part.

I agree...I am really liking the app and it is a great improvement over the native view but the on again - off again...is getting tedious.

Again - I appreciate the beta aspect of this app but this is really getting frustrating.

The argument that it is to make sure we are all using the same code and not lagging behind on an old version doesn't hold water. The app has once again been crippled without providing a working version. That is poor project management.

If it's just their way of making sure we all pay for the (eventual) production release of the app, it sure is make a lot of frustrated beta testers in the process. I have removed it permanently... no time for such foolish games.

Yeah, I did a battery pull and lost this as well. This has been a pretty bad beta test experience for me as well. When it's working, it works well but there are bugs that need to be worked out for sure.

The only version out there is an expired beta version. Everyone and their brother is in limbo with this app right now.

I don't know anything about programming or designing apps so I am not going to be critical of what it takes to get this done.

The version out there is an expired version. I estimated that we will be ready with a new version by that time, but the estimate was wrong. Some things are taking more time to complete than estimated. Its almost there, but not fully there. We will let you know when the final version is released.

Thanks,
Ani.

Arrow SMS Viewer, Writer, Popups & Quick SMS

Dear All,
The wait is over. The next version is out for trial. We have developed two more apps: SMS Popups and Quick SMS alongwith SMS Viewer to offer a more complete package. Please note, all apps are in Beta but will pretty soon go release version.

Download links are -

SMS Viewer: www.getempower.com/beta/sms/
Quick SMS: www.getempower.com/beta/qsms/
SMS Popups: www.getempower.com/beta/smspopup/

All apps require the latest version of Empower Central so please download it first. Central also has been upgraded to handle not only SMS functionality but also provide convenient user experience for support issues through a common interface.

Thanks,
Ani.

Default About Quick SMS

Just wanted to point out - Quick SMS support home screen shortcut. Just press Q. So if you have a contact shortcut A (say assigned to a contact Ani) then you can sms Ani by simply typing QA. Infact, this is the intended way to use this app.

Also, if pressing Q launches the Phone application then you need to disable dial from homescreen. Goto Phone app > Options > General Options > Dial From HomeScreen to NO.
