I had the same problem. Extensive reading.. and I mean EXTENSIVE... over at Crackberry yielded many folks with the same issue. It appears to be theme related... something to do with scripting/font. (there is a sticky over there with a list of usable/unusable themes for .151) I had been using iVista2 which gave me the same issue you are having. I switched to another theme; BeBerry... and no longer have the problem. (I should add that I have reached out to the iVista2 theme developer and he is looking into it. Very responsive.)
Try switching out your current theme.

YMMV but it works for me.

And may I add that the organization of threads/posts/etc. over here at BBF is amazingly 'tight'... as compared to Crackberry. I am a member there as well...and i mean no disrespect to them.... but if you spend anytime over there, you will see what I mean. Keep up the great work BBF!

After upgrading, my storm I couldn't get the full applications screen to come up by pressing the screen, or the blackberry button. I tried turning it into landscape mode, but that would just cause a reset error.

I'm reinstalling now, and have removed the extra themes that I had on the device (plazmic default w/ hidden today) to see if that was causing the problem, but was curious if anyone else ran into this.

***Update***

It seems that the theme was causing the problem. I reinstalled .151 and deleted all other themes, and it's working now. I loved that theme though ... hate to not be able to use it.

Ditto here with (my preferred) "iVista2".

I am sure the theme folks will figure it out sooner or later.
Maybe we can start a thread listing themes that are compatible with .151

Not sure if there is one already.

Default Works Smooth......

There are a couple of steps missing on downloading the update, but it works as advertise. Updated both my wife and mine storms. Looks like it works 5X to 10X faster for me. We come from .148. Had to reboot by pulling the battery to get it to read my memory card for media, Did not have this problem with my wife's dough. Also I install the memory cleaning and ran it. It works awesome. Now if I can only do picture cropping and zoom or video editing like the iphone, we would be in business.

I have not been able to find movies to take advantage of the huge display and higher resolution either. Any suggestions are welcome.

I tried it and found it nice to look at with the transitions and quite quick. However, I ran into three issues: 1) answering the phone (with the "real" phone button) was inconsistent. Sometimes I'd have to press the button two or three times. Very distracting. 2) My Opera Mini would lose connectivity once or twice a day, and I'd have to do a battery pull (quickpull). 3) Pocketday wouldn't launch.

I've since reverted back to .148.

Best Storm OS EVAR! Everything is much quicker and the new transition is nice.

I thought I would stay on this rev forever but 5.0 just leaked.

I have a 9530 Storm with Verizon. Will this work on Verizon phones? Sometimes Verizon is picky on what is installed on their phones.

Many thanks.

Good and fast but my window 7 theme crashes all the time so I have to use something else other than Windows 7 theme. But overall it works great!

please disregard my previous post for help in installing this OS. I tried to use the manager and it stated I couldn't upgrade to .151. But funny enough when I download and install the 9530 5.0 OS, which also shows in the manager, then I was able to upgrade to .151. Just not sure if I am gonna try 5.0 yet or not just got it in case. Thanks

Like the OS... but my BBM disappeared and I cannot download it OTA thanks to "not meeting requirements" and it doesn't appear in my software list...

Is my only course of action to downgrade back to .148?

Just a followup regarding Pocketday and OS .151: According to Pocketday support, "RIM has acknowledged that they broke this and are working on a fix," which will come in a newer OS. They also said Pocketday has no plans to support .151, and plans to wait for this newer OS.

I need my Pocketday; indeed, I was without it for just a few days and really missed it! I'll be waiting, too.

Question

ok i have a little problem here.... i downloaded the update installer and installed the os. i went and deleted the vendor xml file and clicked on the loader application which was in the same folder.. but when i try to update it through that do i select the installer or the os by itself, if its the os by itself then where do i find it? i also tried using the blackberry desktop manager and it never brings up .151 , only .75 , .148, and .65 show up , so anyone knoew whata the problem would be? currently i have .148 and really want to upgrade to .151 since iv heard its really good lol
