Default Messages that can't be seen???

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded from the Curve to the Tour and after getting everything set up I am showing 6 messages at the top of the screen that I cannot see. I have checked my two email accounts (cox+gmail) and sms/mms and nothing is there. Anyone else having this problem?

Welcome to the forums.

Check all of your mail folders, especially saved messages. There may be something hiding in there.

If not, remove the battery for 30 seconds and see if it clears it up.

you might be seeing the mail reminder that shows up whenever you miss a call or get a vmail. you get one icon for the vmail and one icon for the "missed call."

if this is the issue, when you delete the missed call msg, the icon will go away

With Blackberries this happens quite often. I used to just do a reset with my Curve but with this Tour I had 15 messages on the icon and four that WOULD NOT delete off the list. So everytime I checked my messages folder those 4 would be there and the icon would show 15 unread.

What I ended up doing was using Desktop manager I went to the advanced section and removed just the messages (after backing up, of course) and then reset the device. AFter the 7 minute boot time I restored those messages and no icon and the 4 were deletable and now everything's back to normal.

You can also highlight a date separator (while viewing messages) and press Menu/Delete Prior, and it deletes the phantom message indicators (as well as your messages!)

Wirelessly posted

That won't work in these cases. Sometimes they just won't go away.

Make sure to look in the "Messages" folder. The welcome emails are sometimes in there.
