somehow he deleted or lost his Browser folder and can't figure out howw to get it back on the screen. Any ideas?

Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Menu Key and Register now.

tried that and received a confirmation message that he is registered with the wireless network but still no folder button on the main screen.

Try Menu key and "show all" in case it got hidden.
