I am trying to tether my bold with the att communications manager. My device is plugged in and desktop manager says cnonected but the communications manager says no wireless device detected. Please help!

Is the mass storage mode turned on? Do you see the Blackberry storage devices on your laptop?

This can happen if you de-branded your Bold but did not fix the mass storage mode issue.

It can also happen if during the AT&T comm manager install, the USB drivers did not get installed correctly.

i would remove the s/w and reinstall it.
