something strange happened to my 8900 last week, the menu and escape key don't work, and some strange behaviors are found on other keys, for example, when you press Y, it will appear YD. I don'w know what is the root cause, then it suddenly turned to be ok and everything is fine for 5 days, but today, it happens again on some of the keys(different than last time), who knows what's happening on my BBxxx65311;

I once had your problem spilling Pancake syrup in my device. It may be a moisture issue. One option is to pull the battery and take the device and stuff it in a bag of rice and seal the bag for a few days.

Sounds like it has gotten wet.

You might try pulling the battery, as that could fix it, but seems doubtful to me as you stated the problem.

what confused me is it never got wet, I am not sure if it is easy to open it and do some cleaning job.

silica gel desiccant (craft shop) works better then rice
