Question Mail gone after reading? (BES)

Please Login to Remove!

This is strange.. I'm sure I fiddled somewhere and "broke it" This was working just fine yesterday.

Mail gets delivered to the "inbox" but after reading, it's gone. I'm not deleting it (yet), simply just reading it.

I do have several server side rules that move mail to different folders. My "message forwarding options" has all of these "destination" folders selected.

Hide Files = Yes
Hide Sent = Yes
Keep Messages = 3 Months

Delete on: Mailbox & Handheld (I'm not deleting them though)

Mail that is delivered directly to my Inbox works as it should.

Storm OS 4.7.0.148
Fresh reboot so plenty of memory free

WTF on the move? Not sure it is a BES issue at all, the reason I put that in the title is that a search showed a similar issue and it was a BIS issue.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

I am on a BES, the issue I found via search was a user on a BIS.

This is a BES issue.
The subfolders that you have your messages being filed into are set up for redirection to your handheld.
(Messages > Options > Email Settings > click menu button > Folder Redirection)

Because you have 'Hide Filed Messages' set to Yes... the messages will hide themseves after you read them.
Set that to No... and then they'll remain in your Messages list after you read them.

correct. One thing that took me a while to digest early on in my BB infancy phase was that your inbox on the BB isn't really your "Inbox" rather it is your "Messages Folder/View". Notice that you see SMS messages (depending on your theme settings on some devices) and other types of messages. BB messenger, office communicator etc. Not sure what device or OS you are using but newer OS's will show a folder icon beside the mail that you have re-directed to your messages folder on the device thus letting you know visually before opening that this is a message delivered to your "messages folder" via a server side rule and a redirection setting you have previously set.

Hope this helps a bit. It did for me once I started thinking of it like that.
