I am one of the many that have bought a BlackBerry 8700 from Ebay. This is my problem.
I have a BB Dataplan with Vodafone, the phone is Orange branded and I keep getting call failed when trying to dial out. I can access the internet no problem. I have used MFI and unlocked the phone thinking that was the problem, and have completely wiped it and updated to OS 4.5, and removed IT Policy and disabled firewall.
If I change my IMEI using Radio Tools I am able to make calls but not access the internet, it will not let me download the service book. If i return my IMEI back to original I have internet but cannot make calls.

Does anyone have a solution. I would really appreciate it.

Return the 8700 to the seller, get your money back and leave appropriate feedback for the bad device.

Or was it you who screwed it up, using the MFI.

Maybe it's just your loss.

Any one mention that changing an IMEI is against the law.

No the phone was like this when I got it, I am getting no answers from Ebay seller.

NJBlackBerry - This is why I am after a solution, I want to keep the original IMEI.

Why by changing the IMEI it allows me to make calls but not access the internet? This must mean the phone does work, what would be blocking this?

You probably got a device that some doofus already screwed with MFI on.

Dispute the purchase on PayPal and save your headache on a $25 BlackBerry.
