Default Incoming "UNKOWN NUMBER" ID

Please Login to Remove!

Recently on my Storm I have been recieving alot of missed calls from Unknown Number caller IDs

My phone plan has caller ID and usually if the number wasnt in my contacts, it would just display the phone number as a missed call.

Then I recieved a phone call from one of my contacts, while it was ringing it showed the caller ID correctly, but once I missed the call (I didnt make it in time) it switched to Unknown number in my call history.
Now a few times, that switch happens as I try to answer the call, the phone abruptly ignores the call and the caller ID reverts to Unkown Number

I tried updating the BB and the problem continues. Anyone have any idea where I should start?

Im new to this, Ive only had the phone since early July

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Sorry, but I haven't encountered this issue. I've never heard someone with a similar problem. Might be a carrier issue. Give them a call.

Sounds like whomever is calling has their phone set up to restrict their identity. I had mine set this way until I noticed a friend of mine would never answer when I called, but would call back immediately if I left a message. He said my calls were showing up as unknown caller, which he ignored.

Restricted numbers show up as Private Number.
This didnt happen the first 5 weeks I had the phone.
Ive tried clearing some memory by deleting a few apps. I figure maybe the memory was low and that might have been affecting its ability to store call history?
Im shooting in the dark but wth.

Any new themes installed? or apps? did you delete the vendor.xml file when you updated? did you resend the service books? have you check your network and security settings?

I think you need to contact your carrier. The phone can only display what it given to it by the wireless network. Have them check your account.
There are also a lot of "spoof apps" out there that could very well send a blank number.
