Just upgraded to the 8900 from the 8310 yesterday. Phone was working fine and then all of a sudden the trackball decides to be stubborn. Scrolls fine every direction except to the left. It will, I just have to put pressure in that direction....anyone know how I can fix this????

that's what i've been doing...to make it scroll.

Clean it with a sani-wipe. Its probably dirty

you may have a small rock or chunk of dirt stuck in the trackball assembly if you're not comfortable opening your bb I suggest you take it back to tmo for a new phone

A tip to prevent this from happening again: Do not carry it in your pocket. It can pick up dirt and lint and make the trackball and/or keys inoperable.

Carry it int he pouch or holder that came with the device.

thats a good point right there mine doesnt reallly scrool right good gonna get a replacement soon just too lazy since i hardly use my 8900 recently

Definitely consider replacing the device within the 30-day return period if the problem persists. There are extensive threads about trackball problems with the 8900 and 9600. For some users it may just be a matter of pocket lint, but others have experienced persistent and often worsening problems, usually with horizontal movement. I have had to replace a 8900 (and 9630) and there is no comparison between the trackballs on the replacements and the originals.
