Default Idiot Needs Help....How do I use a data card with tmobile?....

Please Login to Remove!

I have always admired the 3G AT&T and SPRINT unlimited data cards for surfing anywhere and would like to understand my options better with tmobile.

Here is my equipment list:

BB 8900 Curve
$19.99 Unlimited Data Plan
Lenovo X61s Laptop w/ Bluetooth
Windows XP

If I understand the previous threads correctly, my options are as follows:

Option A)
Low speed option:
Setup/Tether a bluetooth connection with the BB phone and the laptop (wirelessly?). Complex setup initially. (Can somebody provide me with a link on how to setup bluetooth between phone and laptop for wireless tether)?

Option B)
High speed option:
Remove Sim card from phone (incoming phone calls will receive busy signal instead of automatic voicemail) and put SIM card into Option icon 452. This device costs approx $180 but offers much higher connection speed. Is this correct? Will tmobile surcharge me for a higher data transmission? No setup required. No additional charges with Tmobile.

Do I understand this correctly?

Is there much speed difference between option A or B?

Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion....

Anthony

Honestly, I don't see how the USB modem is going to be any faster than the tethered BlackBerry. EDGE is EDGE and that won't change between the two devices. Maybe if you found a USB modem that would support the T-Mobile 3G service things would be different.

Option B will not work.
The 8900 doesn't have a 3G radio in it.

You'll probably have better luck getting answers on Option B here:
HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - Data Aircard/USB Modem

I have no idea if it will work with a BB data plan or not.
