Default Can We Swap MicroSD Memory Cards?

Please Login to Remove!

Would there be any problems taking the MicroSD memory card out of my Bold and into another device like, say, the Curve 8900? Has anyone ever tried it?

OK, cool. However, to take this swapping question to the next level: can you swap out my MicroSD memory card from my Blackberry Bold and use it in my Nokia N82?

Has anyone tried something like that?

It should work just fine. They are formatted the same.

I've taken them from Nokias and put them into BlackBerrys, but I always formatted them when I first did the swap, just to be sure.

I've tried to put my micro card from my blackberry into my cell phone and it did not work. Both are Verizon devices and my phone is new and supports the card, but asks to format my card from my blackberry.

It's possible that your cell phone didn't support the larger capacity high density MicroSD that you might have been using in your BlackBerry. Anything 2GB or higher IIRC is the high density/high capacity type.

With BlackBerrys, the size of the card you can use depends on the OS your device is running, not necessarily the model BlackBerry it is:

A MicroSD is a MicroSD as said above. you can take it out a phone, put into a SD card adapter and put it in a camera if you need to.

As stated above many times, it should work. Just to cover all bases, if you have encryption enabled, you will not be able to access the files other than on the BlackBerry that the encryption was enabled on.
