Default call quality Blackberry tour

Please Login to Remove!

wanted to ask others their opinions. We purchased Storms in the spring and the call quality stunk. We sold them. my wife and I are considering the Tour. I have read a great deal about them. I am aware of the trackball concerns and the battery issue. The storm had the battery issue and we had the fixed by adjusting where the storm was looking for cell towers.

Can anyone comment on the call quality of the tour? Good bad? indifferent?

thanks

On mine and my wife's it is very good. I even received a compliment the other day from another parent at my daughter's soccer game about how well the voice sounded on the phone.

thanks for the reply!! I work in a medical office and my wife cares for her grandparents and is always on the phone with physician's offices about appointments. So call quality is very important.

thanks for note!!!

I'm on my third replacement tour and in each I've gotten complaints from people on the other line that they can't hear me or that my voice sounded muffled.

I had issues with my original Tour, but the new one no one has said a word and the volume/quality coming in on the Tour is the best of any Berry I have every used.

People have complained to me that I sound muffled as well. There is some thread on here that indicates the best sound quality is when you hold the phone against your ear and parallel to the ground (mouthpiece pointing at 3 o'clock) -- that seemed to help too.

Speculation is that they have some noise-dampening technology that works best when phone is in that position?

Has anyone had to replace a green dot device? I have a green dot phone and in the past two days three separate people have complained I sound muffled. For a $500 phone, that is about the last thing I need to hear.

I have the new 'green dot' 9630 and the voice quality is still the same. I upgraded to the new .57 OS and have not noticed any great improvement. Holding the phone at the 3 o'clock position, snug to your cheek DOES help quite a bit though. I just purchased a Jawbone bluetooth device and the results are AMAZING. My voice on the other end is crystal clear! It's a shame RIM puts out a phone with such poor voice quality. We can only hope future OS upgrades fix the issue.
