Is there any way when using the gmail app to get it so mail doesn't also go into the inbox that is set up when adding the email address(pain deleting from 2 inboxes) and is there a way to get a notification that you have email?

I would suggest that you remove the gmail account setup from your BIS, as once you have it there it will download the e-mail. So its either you use the gmail app and remove your gmail account from BIS, or don't use the gmail app.

Is there more than one gmail app? I had the one from App World and that did not give me notifications. Could that be b/c I had the gmail mail coming to the other inbox?

Don't know, I got my Gmail app from Google themselves Google Mobile I believe.

Your issue is that you have your Google account configured on your BIS server as WELL as having the GMAIL app. Like the poster above said, remove your GMAIL account from your BIS setup.
