I have a problem with the 4.5 upgrade. It removed my roam only option, now my signal is going in and out. How do i roll back to get this option again? I reloaded my desk and device manager in 4.3. How do i get the software into my phone and apps?

You need to remove the 4.5 OS from your PC (under Add/Remove programs) and then when you connect your BB to your computer and start Desktop Manager you should be prompted to downgrade.

Just FYI that when I did that on mine, my address book did not restore. I had to restore it from a previous backup I took when the device had 4.3 on it.

Just curious as to which version of 4.5 do you have? The latest versions do not have that issue, which was reported many versions ago.

just curious as to why anyone screwing around with any 4 version. 5 is so much better. but i recommend a wipeout and not upgrade. EVERYTIME i do upgrades my phone completetly goes to crap. everyone else does upgrades and they end up whining. it's not that hard to do wipeout and clean install. AND IT WORKS EVERYTIME. better then the bugs from upgrades.

download desktop 5.01 first. control panel, add/remove, programs, and remove any phone software already installed on pc. back up your phone befire wiping out. and grab whatever 5.0.0.230.

any 4 isn't worth screwing around with anymore. when 5 is the future. and for the curve. it's many enhancements. and added features.

threaded text messaging with smileys is the selling point alone. let alone everything else.

Since 5.0 hasn't been offically released yet, some people don't like to install beta OS's on their device. What works well for you, may not work well for someone else due to the different 3rd party applications they have installed.

wow talk about opinionated....5.0 is for specific devices...install it on the wrong one, and you just crashed the phone. IF you want 4.3 GET IT..dont take advice from ppl talking about the future until he arrives in your living room in a time capsule..

Tried to roll back software to 4.3 to get the roam. When I opened the 4.3 desk manager it didnt ask me if i wanted to downgrade. When I opened application loader it was not in there either. Why cant I go back to the 4.3?

not opinionated. just saying your all crazy for sticking with an anitquated operating system. the oldest phone to get it is curve 8330. and as i also stated. if you all having problems. IT BECUASE YOU UPGRADED. and not clean install. other then bb app world not working yet. my phone works perfectly. bb app world has had 4 upgrades now to make work on 5.0. curve is the last phone waiting.

yes 5 has roaming. any phone that has 64 megs of memory won't be getting the upgrade. curve 8330 has 96. 5 does so much more then 4. but that's your choice if you don't want to better your phone. just don't be calling me opinionated. becuse i have moved on with my phone. it WON'T be going back to 4. no features what so ever to even think about continued use.
