U.S. Attorney General Holder says five 9/11 defendants will be tried in New York; says U.S. will seek the death penalty.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say he gets the conviction.

Just for the sake of debate, however: do you think it's possible a 9/11 defendant to get a fair trial in New York?

Basically all the US AG has to do is prove they were involved. Commit the crime in our country, face our legal system.

They would get the same results no matter where in the US the trials are held.

Why not just start painting bullseyes on subway trains, Broadway theaters, the NY Stock Exchange and every other high profile target. If being NY isn't a big enough target, now they're going to be trying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other terrorist suspects. How do New Yorkers feel about this?

Knowing what I know about New Yorkers, the biggest argument in the jury room is going to center around the debate between "hang em by the balls till they bleed to death" & "101 uses for a blowtorch you DIDN'T learn in shop class." Oh trust me, they're gonna get the death penalty.

Only thing I can think of is to get information out of them. IMO one of the greatest failings of Bush's administration was not to get the trials over with.
